Aberdeen’s first-ever Coffee and Cake Week has officially launched today, bringing together twenty independent cafés and bakeries across the city for a week-long celebration of local coffee culture.
Running from Monday 3 November to Sunday 9 November, the initiative gives residents and visitors the chance to enjoy a coffee and cake combination for just £5 (£6 at Books and Beans), with venues stretching from the Beach Esplanade to Rosemount Viaduct and Chapelton.

Founded by Nadine Forbes, the event was inspired by her passion for supporting small, independent businesses and helping them thrive.
“Aberdeen Coffee and Cake Week was inspired by my genuine desire to support local businesses,” said Nadine. “I’ve seen how one post or reel can bring a business into the spotlight. I wanted to give smaller venues a chance to shine – to create something affordable and accessible that encourages people to explore new cafés, meet others, and return again and again.”
The event, established in late 2024, has already drawn strong public interest online, with local ambassadors and social media influencers joining forces to spotlight each participating venue. From Hummingbird Café in Kintore to Cup Tea Salon on Little Belmont Street, all twenty locations are family-run or independently operated, offering high-quality service and homemade treats.
Customers can simply visit any participating café and ask for the “Aberdeen Coffee and Cake offer” to receive the special £5 deal.

Co-Owners of Krepes ‘N’ Kones
Among those taking part is Krepes ‘n’ Kones on George Street, where owner Madiha Iqbal said she is thrilled to be involved.
“We’re very excited to be part of Aberdeen’s first Coffee and Cake Week,” she said. “Events like this are exactly what the city needs to celebrate, support and showcase its amazing small businesses. It’s a brilliant initiative that shines a light on local venues and encourages people to discover what makes Aberdeen’s food scene so special.”
Nadine added: “This isn’t just about sales for one week – it’s about helping people discover local favourites and hopefully become regulars. We’ve already seen walking groups and community meet-ups forming around the event, using it as an opportunity to connect and try somewhere new.”
