A family-run Ayrshire hotel is creating 30 new jobs ahead of its new sea view spa launch early next year.

Owned and operated by SimpsInns, The Waterside Hotel at West Kilbride has announced a regional recruitment drive in preparation for one of the most exciting leisure and tourism developments in Scotland for 2026.

SimpsInns has invested £3million in the major development, including the addition of 17 new luxury guest suites and bedrooms with sea views, as well as its new start-of -the-art spa, which is now in the final stages of construction.

The Waterside is now encouraging applications from people across Ayrshire who are keen to kick start the new year by taking the next step in their career. A variety of senior therapist, spa therapist, spa attendant, front-of-house and housekeeping roles are up for grabs with immediate start dates available.

New team members will benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities, including experience working across the SimpsInns group. A range of staff discounts for the spa, gym and on food and drink are also on offer.

Once complete in early 2026, Si! Spa at The Waterside will be home to state-of-the-art spa facilities, including six treatment rooms, a four-person Rasul experience, thermal area with sauna and steam room, as well as three experience showers. The spa will also overlook the beach and will have a strong focus on the outdoors with a large hydro pool, outdoor shower, cold bucket, a sheltered firepit and seating area.

Located just 40 minutes from Glasgow, The Waterside Hotel enjoys commanding sea views over the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran. The new extension complements the existing 23 bedrooms already available at The Waterside, bringing the total number of guests rooms to 40.

The opening of Si Spa! at The Waterside is part of SimpsInns’ wider ambition to enhance its reputation for offering the best spa and leisure experiences across the north Ayrshire region.

Jack Simpson from SimpsInns, said:

“We’re now in the final stages of our new £3million spa development at The Waterside, which will see one of the most exciting leisure and tourism developments in Scotland for 2026.

“As we gear up for our official launch early next year, we want to make sure we have the best team of leisure and hospitality professionals we can get, so we’re creating around 30 new roles, including spa therapists, front-of-house and housekeeping staff.

“The passion and dedication of our team is vital to the continued success of SimpsInns and is why our guests keep coming back. As well as ongoing career development opportunities across all our venues, new recruits will also enjoy a range of discounts for the spa, gym and restaurants.”

The Irvine-based Simpson family is the driving force behind SimpsInns, which owns and operates a collection of award-winning hotels, restaurants, bars, spa, golf, and leisure activities along the Ayrshire coast, including The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride, The Gailes Hotel & Spa in Irvine, and The Loans Inn at Troon.
