One of Edinburgh’s leading craft breweries has been announced as the official beer partner for Scotland’s largest sport and music festival, set to take place at Peffermill Playing Fields from 10 to 12 July 2026.

Cold Town Beer will support the three-day Edinburgh City 7s Festival at The University of Edinburgh venue, which now attracts more than 120 teams and over 5,000 attendees across the weekend. The event combines elite and social competition with a packed programme featuring three sports, five bars, two music arenas, international DJs and some of Scotland’s best street food.

Edinburgh City 7s is a multi-sport festival showcasing rugby, hockey and netball, with a mix of high-level competition and social tournaments creating a lively on- and off-pitch atmosphere.

The Peffermill Playing Fields site offers extensive facilities, including two internationally accredited water-based artificial pitches, 3G surfaces for rugby, football and lacrosse, nine five-a-side 3G pitches, 10 grass pitches, cricket squares and a synthetic running track.

Irma Jansen of Cold Town Beer said: “As Edinburgh’s leading craft brewery, we’re passionate about our ongoing support for grassroots sports, cultural and summer events in the city and across Scotland.

“This July, we’re proud to be an official partner of Edinburgh City 7s Festival, which is set to be the biggest and best yet. Teams can enter one of 13 competitions or simply enjoy Scotland’s finest street food and beer pitch-side while watching top-class sport.

“We’re already gearing up to serve beer to more than 10,000 festival-goers over the weekend event, so sign up now and be part of Scotland’s largest sport and music festival.”

Scott Woloszyn, Head of Bars at Edinburgh City 7s, added: “We’re genuinely excited to team up with Cold Town once again as the official beer sponsor of EC7s.

“We can’t wait to bring the lively atmosphere – along with those cold pints of Doddie Beir – back to the sidelines. Even better, this partnership supports a meaningful cause, with proceeds going to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity at the heart of the rugby community.”

Edinburgh City 7s marks the final stop in the summer series of tournaments, with Cold Town Beer having partnered with several key events this season, including Melrose 7s, Kings of the 7s and Currie 7s.

The Edinburgh City 7s Festival takes place at Peffermill Playing Fields, The University of Edinburgh, Laurie Liddell Clubhouse, Peffermill Road, Edinburgh.
