New Sauchiehall Street site marks UK brand’s latest expansion.

IRO Sushi, described as one of the fastest-growing sushi brands in the UK, will open its first Glasgow store on Saturday, 10th October, at 249-257 Sauchiehall Street. The opening will commence at 12pm and will feature a complimentary sushi box selection for the first 100 customers. Returning customers will also receive 25% off their entire bill on the launch day.

Founded in 2014 by trained sushi chef Chhong Sherpa, IRO Sushi currently operates more than 30 quick-service restaurants across the UK, serving over 1.1 million customers annually. The Glasgow location will offer its full range of fresh, made-to-order sushi and authentic hot Japanese dishes, including katsu curry and gyoza, alongside various sides and appetisers.

A central focus for the brand is sustainable sourcing, with IRO Sushi stating it uses only sustainable and premium seafood from Norway and sauces and toppings directly from Japan. Customers can choose to order for collection, home delivery via local platforms, or dine in the comforting and relaxing store. The interior design is inspired by traditional Japanese “izakayas,” featuring ambient lighting and contemporary finishes, and includes new digital touchscreen kiosks for streamlined ordering.

Chhong Sherpa, Founder & CEO of IRO Sushi, said: “We are delighted to be opening in Glasgow as we continue to grow our presence across the UK. Whether customers are looking for a high-quality, protein-rich lunch or somewhere to catch up with friends and family over dinner, we cannot wait to welcome them through our doors.”
