As the nights draw in and temperatures begin to fall, Bonfire Night offers an ideal opportunity to discover a warming new dram.
From sherry-matured single malts and a historic ginger liqueur to an award-winning meeting of whisky and coffee, these four bottles bring rich spice, smoke and autumnal flavours to the season.
The Hearach Oloroso Cask Matured
The Hearach Oloroso Cask Matured is the second whisky expression released by the Isle of Harris Distillery.
Created for crisp autumn evenings, the single malt opens with aromas of cinnamon, orange peel and cloves. Wood smoke and walnut shells emerge on the palate, while burnt orange and warming spice give the whisky further depth.
Bold and atmospheric, the expression reflects the distinctive island character of the Outer Hebrides and offers a richly flavoured dram to enjoy as the temperature drops.
Berry Bros. & Rudd The King’s Ginger
ABV: 29.9%
Originally formulated by Berry Bros. & Rudd in 1903 for King Edward VII, The King’s Ginger combines a fiery burst of ginger with gentle sweetness and fresh lemon citrus.
The liqueur can be served neat, used in a warming seasonal cocktail or added to festive baking for an extra kick of spice. Its balance of heat and sweetness makes it a fitting choice for Bonfire Night gatherings.
WXC
ABV: 44.5%
WXC brings together whisky and coffee through a collaboration between Leith-based Woven Whisky and London’s Assembly Coffee.
The expression was named World’s Best Flavoured Whisky at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards, with neither element overpowering the other. Tasting notes of dark chocolate and caramel create a rich and indulgent spirit suited to slow evenings by the fire.
The GlenAllachie 15 Year Old
ABV: 46%
The GlenAllachie 15 Year Old is a richly sherried single malt showcasing the Speyside distillery’s focus on sourcing high-quality wood.
