Rare Find, the award-winning Edinburgh-based independent bottler, has unveiled its latest collection of single cask whiskies, shining a spotlight on the intricate relationship between spirit character and cask influence.

Building on strong momentum throughout 2026 and rising demand for its carefully curated releases, the new collection brings together four distinctive whiskies. Each expression has been selected to demonstrate how different maturation styles can shape, enhance and transform some of Scotland’s most compelling distillates.

Spanning Highland, Speyside and Islay styles, the collection highlights a spectrum of cask types from the clarity of first-fill bourbon barrels to the richness of Napa Valley red wine and the intensity of first-fill oloroso sherry quarter casks. As with all Rare Find releases, each whisky is bottled at natural cask strength, with natural colour and no chill filtration.

Among the line-up is a 12-year-old Blair Athol, matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel. Known for its rich Highland character, the spirit’s natural honeyed notes are allowed to shine, supported by the cask’s gentle sweetness and structure.

A 14-year-old Deanston has been matured in a first-fill Napa Valley red wine barrique, pairing the distillery’s waxy, cereal-led profile with layers of ripe fruit, subtle spice and added complexity.

From Speyside, a 9-year-old Dalmunach has been finished for 17 months in a first-fill oloroso sherry quarter cask. The smaller cask format intensifies interaction with the wood, amplifying the whisky’s fruit-forward character with depth and a pronounced sherried richness.

Completing the collection is a 9-year-old ‘mystery’ Islay single malt, finished for 18 months in a first-fill oloroso sherry quarter cask. The result is a bold interplay of coastal smoke, salinity and layers of dried fruit and spice, offering a richly textured dram.

Commenting on the release, James Zorab, Whisky Supply Manager for Rare Find, said: “Every cask tells a different story, and this collection is all about showcasing those contrasts. Whether it’s the modesty of bourbon maturation, the influence of premium wine casks or the intensity that quarter cask sherry maturation can bring, each whisky demonstrates how carefully selected wood can reveal different dimensions of a distillery’s character.

“Together, they represent exactly what Rare Find seeks to achieve – exceptional single casks that offer something distinctive, memorable and genuinely worth discovering.”

The Rare Find Summer 2026 Collection will be available via Rare Find stockists from 2 July 2026.
