Dhoom Streatery & Bar is the February 2026 winner of the Dunfermline and Dollar Community Award presented by local MP Graeme Downie, for outstanding service and contribution to the community. The award focuses on celebrating individuals, groups, and businesses who go above and beyond to support local people here in Fife.

Dhoom was recognised by constituents and Dunfermline’s MP for supporting charities and grass roots organisations that need it most in Dunfermline, raising over £22,500 to date for local sports teams, musical organisations, the local guide dogs, and musical groups.

Speaking after presenting Dhoom with the Dunfermline and Dollar Community Award, Mr Downie said:

“I am delighted to present Dhoom with a Dunfermline and Dollar Community Award in recognition of their outstanding commitment to supporting local people here in Fife. Time and again, constituents have highlighted the generosity and community spirit shown by the team at Dhoom, and I am pleased to formally thank them on behalf of everyone across the Dunfermline and Dollar constituency.”

“The Dunfermline and Dollar Community Award initiative was created to shine a light on our unsung heroes.  Dhoom’s consistent support for local charities, community groups, and grassroots organisations demonstrates the vital role that local businesses play in strengthening our communities. They are, without doubt, part of the backbone of Fife’s civic life.”

“I am incredibly proud to celebrate the fantastic community cohesion we have here in Dunfermline, and equally proud to shine a light on the remarkable unsung heroes through our new Community Award initiative.”

Commenting from Dhoom Indian Streatery & Bar in Dunfermline, Dhaneshwar Prasad, Chef/Proprietor of the multi award winning restaurant, said:

“To receive this certificate from Mr Downie is a real honour. Of all the many certificates and accolades we have received over the past few years, this is indeed one that we will really treasure. It’s a huge and very meaningful acknowledgement of our continuing role in the community. Giving back is so important to us, it’s at the very heart of Dhoom. We look forward to keeping up the good work, and would thank Mr Downie’s office once again for recognising us in this way.”
