Jumpstart your day with this scrumptious and revitalising green smoothie! Brimming with nutrient-dense ingredients, this elixir is crafted to boost your energy levels and keep you feeling satiated and content. Whether you’re in need of a swift breakfast option or a wholesome snack, this smoothie is ideal for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 60g fresh spinach
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 small green apple
  • 1 orange
  • 15g chia seeds
  • 375ml oat milk (or almond milk)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Peel the banana and slice it into chunks.
    • Peel the orange by hand or using a knife, then divide it into segments.
    • Wash the apple, remove the core, but retain the skin.
  2. Blend the Ingredients:
    • Place all the ingredients (spinach, banana, apple, orange, chia seeds, and oat milk) in a high-speed blender.
    • Blitz for 1-2 minutes until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
  3. Adjust Consistency:
    • Sample the smoothie and add more oat milk if it’s too thick for your liking.
  4. Serve:
    • Pour the smoothie into a glass, bottle, or mason jar.
    • Enjoy straightaway, or store in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Tips

  • No Added Sweeteners: Avoid incorporating refined sugars. The natural sweetness from the fruits should suffice. You can add more bananas or a few pitted dates if you have a sweet tooth.
  • Use Ripe Fruits: Riper fruits will make your smoothie sweeter and more flavoursome.
  • Perfect Green Colour: Stick to yellow and green fruits to maintain a vibrant green hue. Darker fruits like blueberries might alter the colour but will still taste delicious.
  • Blend Thoroughly: Ensure you blitz for at least 60 seconds to avoid finding bits of greens in your smoothie.

Additional Boosters

  • Superfoods: For extra nutrients, add 5g of superfoods like flax seeds, bee pollen, or maca powder.
  • Healthy Fats: For added nutrition and healthy fats, incorporate a handful of nuts or a tablespoon of nut butter.
  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with different greens (like kale or Swiss chard) and fruits (like mango or pineapple) to suit your palate.

Savour this invigorating green smoothie as a refreshing start to your day or a revitalising midday pick-me-up! It’s delectable and packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to keep you feeling tip-top. Here’s to good health and boundless energy!
