Glasgow’s long-awaited Rioja officially opened its doors on Friday after a two-year hiatus (Friday, 21st March at 12 noon), unveiling a bold new venue that redefines Spanish dining and late-night socialising in the city.

Now open at 115 Hope Street, just moments from Glasgow Central Station, Rioja will welcome guests seven days a week from noon until late (Sunday – Thursday until 11pm, weekends until 1am), offering three floors of food, drink, and entertainment.

Designed to capture the spirit and soul of Spain, Rioja’s transformation blends moody, atmospheric interiors with a high-energy social scene that shifts seamlessly from laid-back lunches to late-night celebrations.

Guests can enjoy modern and classic Iberian tapas throughout the venue or head upstairs to the restaurant mezzanine. Overlooking the lively bar, ornate bespoke lighting and the bustling Hope Street below, this space is designed for intimate dining and leisurely catch ups, paired with Spanish wines and expertly crafted cocktails.

On street level, a stylish open-bar awaits set against a backdrop of Spanish calligraphy, bespoke tiles, hand-drawn artwork, to create a warm and intimate ambiance. With DJs playing live, it’s the perfect spot for after-work drinks or late-night cocktails.

Whilst downstairs is the ultimate late-night playground with vintage mirrors and eclectic lamp shades alongside pool tables, foosball, and live sports screenings. Perfect for heading downstairs after dining or adventures with friends.

Toni Carbajosa said: “It’s finally time to open our doors on Hope Street. We’ve worked tirelessly to create a space that brings a touch of Spain to the city, and we’re confident that Glasgow will love it. Come and join us this weekend for tapas, cocktails, and those late nights that so many enjoyed at Rioja.”

Whether you’re in the mood for a long lunch, a late-night fiesta, or an evening of cocktails and music, Rioja is now open on Hope Street, welcoming both walk-ins and table bookings via https://riojaglasgow.com
