In a bold move to capitalise on the anticipated ‘new-stalgia’ culinary trend of 2025, Gnaw has diligently crafted a range of reimagined British puddings.

The confectionery company has introduced a series of ‘Hug in a Mug’ classics, including Crème Brûlée, Bakewell Tart, and Sticky Toffee Pudding, alongside an impressive ‘pudfolio’ of dessert-flavoured chocolate bars featuring New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie, and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

For many, the final course remains an essential conclusion to a splendid meal shared with friends or family, offering comforting fare that evokes nostalgic memories of custard-drenched, ice cream-topped delights from years past.

Conversely, others view desserts as an inadvertent flirtation with guilt-inducing soft sponges, buttery pastry, alluringly sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, and sticky sauces.

Gnaw’s newly launched ‘Hugs in Mugs’ hot chocolate and chocolate bars, available for the Christmas season, present an ideal compromise.

These offerings provide a contemporary twist on timeless classics, utilising hot chocolate and meticulously crafted bars as the perfect portion-controlled vehicles for reintroducing our palates to beloved sweet flavour combinations from bygone eras.

Indeed, the very essence of ‘new-stalgia’ lies in revisiting comforting classics in a more contemporary and refined manner.

Muhammad Karim, Head of Brand at Gnaw, elucidates: “In our rapidly evolving world, we have drawn upon our profound appreciation for premium chocolate and indulgent confections to develop our range of gooey-centred chocolate spoons.

“These treats are ideal for savouring during cherished moments of solitude or sharing with a loved one, designed to introduce a touch of luxury to one’s day.”
