Isle of Harris Distillery has reunited with Scottish interior design brand Bluebellgray to launch a new wearables collection inspired by the striking landscapes of the Outer Hebrides.

Following the rapid sell-out success of their first collaboration, an outdoor blanket inspired by the seascape of Luskentyre beach, the two brands have expanded their partnership with a range of elevated everyday accessories rooted in craftsmanship and a shared connection to the islands.

The collection centres on a lightweight wool and silk scarf featuring a watercolour depiction of Luskentyre beach, painted by Bluebellgray founder Fi Douglas during a visit to Harris. The design reflects Douglas’ personal ties to the Hebrides, with family roots on the Isle of Lewis informing much of her creative work.

Alongside the scarf, the collection introduces a series of lambswool beanies in three colourways, Heather, Kelp and Hushinish, each inspired by the natural tones of the island, from moorland hues to sea greens and deep coastal blues.

Designed and made in Scotland using 100% lambswool, the beanies are finished with a co-branded jacquard label featuring the Harris coastline. Created with practicality in mind, the pieces are intended for year-round wear, suited to everything from coastal walks to wild swimming, where durability and comfort are essential in the Hebrides’ changeable conditions.

An exclusive Hushinish beanie, a deep teal shade inspired by the island’s turquoise waters, will be available solely at the Isle of Harris Distillery shop in Tarbert, offering a unique purchase for visitors to the island.

The scarf (RRP £45) and the Heather and Kelp beanies (RRP £38) are available online via Bluebellgray, while the Hushinish beanie (RRP £38) is exclusive to the distillery shop.

Charli Foulds, Partnerships and Events Manager at Isle of Harris Distillery, said: “Following the success of our first collaboration together, it felt like the natural next step to evolve this partnership with a wearables collection. Fi’s amazing designs and shared connection to the Hebrides make it an authentic way to bring the beauty of Harris to the world. We’re delighted to bring such vibrant and beautifully crafted pieces to the distillery shop, especially those that capture the colour, character and landscape of the islands so thoughtfully.”

Fi Douglas, founder of Bluebellgray, added: “As a Scottish artist and designer with Hebridean roots, I’m forever inspired by the colours and landscapes of Harris. Working with Isle of Harris Distillery, with the brief to take inspiration from the incredible landscape and beaches of Harris, is a dream collaboration.

“Following on from the success of our outdoor blanket collaboration last year, I wanted to bring the extra things that, for me, make a visit to a Scottish beach complete, no matter the time of year, a cosy beanie and warm scarf. Knitted in Scotland just down the road from my Glasgow studio, the hats capture the colours of Harris. The scarf is designed to be wearable art, the painting directly inspired by Luskentyre beach.”

The collection launches today both online and at the Isle of Harris Distillery shop in Tarbert. More information can be found at harrisdistillery.com.
