It is now easier than ever to bring home a taste of the Outer Hebrides as Isle of Harris Distillery celebrates three breakthrough distribution deals across the UK, including two listings with esteemed supermarket brands.
In a step forward for the Tarbert-based distillery, its presence on shelves in Waitrose supermarkets has been expanded to 66 stores across the UK following exceptional sales performance in select Scottish stores.
Isle of Harris Distillery has also secured a further premium listing in Sainsbury’s supermarkets across Scotland, where its award-winning Isle of Harris Gin is now available to purchase in 25 locations.

The ultra-premium Isle of Harris Gin is distilled in a small copper gin still using nine locally sourced botanicals. This includes sugar kelp seaweed, harvested by hand from the local sea lochs, to create subtle coastal notes in the spirit and give the drinker a true ‘from the sea’ experience. Bottled at 45% ABV, the taste is pure, smooth and refreshing.
Further building on the success of two exclusive releases with Global Duty Free at select UK airports, Isle of Harris Tidal Strength Gin and The Hearach Croft Strength single malt whisky will be found on shelves at Heathrow (all terminals), Stansted and Gatwick airports in the early summer months. These Global Duty Free exclusives follow an agreement with SipWell Brands, recently brought onboard as the distillery’s exclusive global travel retail distribution partner.
Offering UK travellers a new experience of the much-loved spirit, Isle of Harris Tidal Strength Gin has an increased alcohol content of 49.5% ABV, further enhancing the botanical complexity of the gin. This gin remains true to its coastal nature while delivering more intense aromatics and bolder flavours – designed with classic cocktails in mind. The Hearach Croft Strength is a robust, 52% ABV expression of the distillery’s flagship single malt Scotch whisky. Lightly peated, non-chill filtered, and free from artificial colouring, The Hearach Croft Strength reveals a layered nose of soft smoke, caramel, poached fruits, and warming spices.

Ron MacEachran, Executive Chairman of Isle of Harris Distillery, said: “Our expansion through supermarket listings and expanded distribution in the Global Duty Free channel is a huge step in our distillery mission – to share the spirit of Harris with the world – and has been driven by the support and enthusiasm for Isle of Harris Distillery to date. It’s a moment of celebration for the brands as we mark further positive growth and forward momentum. We are excited to see our beautiful bottles on more shelves across the UK and more customers enjoying our spirits in the coming months.”
