£38 Million Investment Brings 13 Speciality Drinks to 58 Restaurants
KFC has launched its new Kwench speciality drinks range across its 58 restaurants in Scotland, including locations in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, and Dumfries. The rollout, which began on Monday, 12th October, introduces 13 trend-led drinks to customers nationwide. This initiative is backed by a £38 million investment from KFC and its franchise partners.
The Kwench range features a variety of drinks such as Krunch Shakes, Iced Coffees, Boba Refreshers, and Sparkling Lemonades. Specific offerings include the limited-edition Millionaire Shake, the Cherry Boba Refresher, the Iced Tiramisu Latte, and the Strawberry Shortcake Krunch Shake. Prices for the drinks start from £2.49, providing options designed as a treat or to be paired with KFC’s fried chicken.
The £38 million investment supports the introduction of new dedicated Kwench counters within KFC restaurants across Scotland. Each Kwench drink is hand-crafted to order by KFC team members, mirroring the process for the brand’s fried chicken. This expansion follows a period of strong performance for Kwench in the UK & Ireland, with sales more than doubling since the start of 2026.

Kwench is a central component of KFC’s strategy to become the fastest-growing restaurant brand for the next generation. The range targets Gen Z’s preference for bold, speciality drinks, noting that over half of these types of beverages are now purchased outside traditional mealtimes. The introduction aims to give Scottish customers more flavour, choice, and reasons to visit KFC, with trend-led flavours designed for social sharing.
The rollout of Kwench marks the latest development in KFC’s growth plans for Scotland. In 2026, the company invested almost £6 million in its Scottish restaurant estate and opened three new restaurants in the country. KFC reports that it contributes £60 million to the Scottish economy and supports 2,585 jobs nationwide.
Leo Sloley, Strategy and Innovation Director at KFC UK & Ireland, commented on the launch: “Scotland already knows and loves us for our chicken, but we want to give people even more reasons to choose KFC, whatever the occasion. Kwench brings more choice to our menu and opens up new moments to enjoy KFC throughout the day. It’s a fresh new side of KFC – fun, full of flavour and unmistakably us. We’re excited to bring Kwench to Scotland and see people make it part of their everyday.”
