New luxury expression features rare and ghost distillery stocks

Johnnie Walker has announced the launch of a new luxury blended Scotch Whisky, named Johnnie Walker Vault. The brand stated that the new expression represents its ultimate expression of blending artistry, crafted from some of Scotland’s most exceptional whiskies.

The whisky draws its name from The Johnnie Walker Vault, a creative atelier located beneath The Johnnie Walker Experience in Edinburgh. This vault reportedly houses a curated selection of 500 whiskies from Diageo’s rare and ghost stocks, which are personally overseen and rotated by Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker.

Dr. Walker, who curates more than 10 million casks of Scotch, created the new blend by layering legendary single malts from ghost distilleries with contemporary malts. This includes a highly aged Brora, casked before the distillery’s closure in 1983, combined with younger Brora from casks filled following its revival. Dr. Walker described the whisky as “a love letter to Scotland, written in whisky,” firmly rooted in the Scottish landscape.

“Johnnie Walker Vault is what I’ve called my love letter to Scotland – a truly special country to which I hold a deep connection. The creation of this whisky – a hand-selected blend of our extraordinary whiskies from across Scotland – is my way to express that,” said Dr. Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker Master Blender.

Johnnie Walker Vault is available exclusively at The Johnnie Walker Experience in Edinburgh, Harrods in London, and online at www.justerinis.com, with a recommended retail selling price (RRSP) of £1,100 per bottle. Further information can be found at https://www.johnniewalker.com/en-gb/vault.
