1st May – Glasgow’s steak game is reaching new heights as The Merchant Steakhouse is set to celebrate its first birthday next month with a brand new dry ageing cabinet, allowing the Glasgow restaurant to deliver the most succulent steaks in town. Plus, toast to The Merchant’s birthday on their sun-soaked Madri terrace, tailor made for spring spritzes in the sun with a special £10 birthday cocktail.

It’s one for the meat lovers…

Over the past year, The Merchant Steakhouse has delighted steak lovers with its exceptional offerings and stylish setting. With the new dry ageing cabinet – the biggest in Glasgow, its culinary team, led by Chef William Lee, will have complete control over the ageing process, enriching the flavour profiles of its prime cut meats. Now on the menu for their birthday month (whole of May), the restaurant will serve up 65-day dry-aged sirloin steaks, a new signature cut aged on-site by The Merchant team, ensuring unparalleled tenderness and taste.

The restaurant secures quality cuts from renowned craft butchers, Millers of Speyside farm in the Highlands, before ageing meat themselves in the cabinets, meaning The Merchant Steakhouse will truly be a cut above the rest.

The Merchant’s Aberdeen Angus beef is cooked to perfection on a custom built Argentinian-inspired charcoal Parrilla grill to infuse every steak with smoky, rich flavours that are simply irresistible. Building on their immaculate reputation, the Merchant’s enhanced menu from 45-day to 65-day dry-aged cuts, will set a new standard in the city’s culinary excellence.

In addition to savouring these exquisite new cuts, guests can celebrate this milestone on a brand new sun-soaked outdoor Madri Terrace, situated next door to The Merchant. The heated terrace garden seats 100 for alfresco dining or drinking and is the perfect spot to soak up some spring sunshine with a spritz or two.

As well as their new signature cuts, guests can toast to the birthday celebrations on the restaurant’s Madri Terrace. Introducing special birthday cocktails for the month of May, sip on a tropical Pineapple and Coconut Daiquiri for only £10, or enjoy al fresco dining or fresh pints at the outdoor bar.

Meanwhile, The Merchant Steahouse’s New York style high-top bar will also serve up classic cocktails like Negronis, Sidecars and a Cherry Old Fashioned, or welcome in the summer season with your favourite Spritz at the bar.

Ryan Bowman, Director at Bow Hospitality said:  “The introduction of our dry ageing cabinet marks a significant enhancement in our culinary offerings. We’re passionate about providing a dining experience that is a cut above the rest and serving up the best steaks in town. Join us as we toast to a year of success and many more to come.”

With sleek, stylish interiors, The Merchant Steakhouse provides an unrivalled modern Scottish dining experience in Glasgow, with dry-aged smokey Scotch steaks, sophisticated cocktails and the best of seasonal Scottish fare and seafood on the menu.
