Ondine Oyster & Grill at Seaton House in St Andrews is offering a refined new way to savour Scotland’s seafood scene with the launch of its Oyster Happy Hour menu, bringing a touch of coastal indulgence to late afternoons in the town.
Available Tuesday to Saturday from 4–5pm, the Oyster Happy Hour is served in the restaurant’s bar area, inviting guests to unwind with a curated selection of small plates and freshly shucked oysters in a relaxed yet elegant setting.
Positioned just moments from the first tee of the iconic Old Course, Ondine delivers a striking backdrop for the experience. Diners can take in sweeping views across West Sands Beach and the Fife coastline while enjoying the theatre of chefs expertly shucking some of the world’s finest oysters at the dedicated oyster bar.
The menu centres around Carlingford oysters from County Louth in Ireland, served either natural with a firecracker dressing (£2 each) or crispy with hot sauce and ranch dressing (£3 each). Alongside the oysters, the offering includes a selection of bar bites designed to complement the seafood focus.

Highlights include monkfish scampi with tartare sauce (£18), mussel popcorn paired with a Vietnamese dipping sauce (£9), and buffalo chicken wings with ranch dressing (£7). Lighter accompaniments such as house bread with cultured butter (£6), house fries with malt mayo (£7), and crispy Pirello olives with smoked salmon mousse (£6) round out the menu.
Ondine Oyster & Grill forms the culinary centrepiece of Seaton House, which opened in early 2025 and has quickly established itself as one of St Andrews’ most notable hospitality destinations. The hotel, now part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World portfolio, combines a boutique feel with expansive coastal views and a strong focus on food and drink.
