Caffè Nero has officially reopened its doors at Aberdeen Railway Station, unveiling a newly designed café that brings the popular coffee brand back to the heart of the city’s transport hub.

The new store, which can seat up to 80 guests, features a bespoke interior designed specifically for its station setting, with dramatic chandeliers, warm lighting and comfortable seating aimed at creating a welcoming space for both travellers and locals.

All eight members of the original station team have returned to operate the new café, having spent the past three years working across nearby Caffè Nero locations. Their return marks a homecoming that many regular customers have eagerly anticipated since the brand’s previous station outlet closed.

Caffè Nero’s spokesperson said:

“We are thrilled to be returning to Aberdeen station. We have received strong customer demand over the last three years to open a new store, and we are delighted to be able to open a new, bespoke store to serve both the station and its customers, and the local community.

The highly trained barista team have all either worked in Caffè Nero in the station before or are from local Caffè Nero stores in the area, and they will bring our unique customer service and premium hand-crafted coffee to our customers. Our new store is ready to serve anyone who is time-sensitive due to travel, or who is looking to take a break and relax as part of their journey.

We look forward to welcoming people back to Caffè Nero in Aberdeen station.”

As with all Caffè Nero cafés, the new venue will offer hand-crafted premium coffee, deli-style food, and friendly one-to-one service, catering to commuters and casual visitors alike.

The Aberdeen Station store will open 6:30 am – 9 pm Monday to Saturday, and 9 am – 7 pm on Sundays.

This opening comes as welcome news to loyal customers following the closure of Caffè Nero’s Market Street branch in May 2023, after the premises were taken over by competitor Black Sheep Coffee.

The new station café reinforces the brand’s continued commitment to Aberdeen’s city centre, offering travellers a familiar and comforting stop before their journey.
