Lidl is launching their second Scottish Gin Festival in time for the festive season, following a hugely popular initial spring promotion, which sold at a rate of over 130 bottles per hour in the first week of sales.

Scottish distillers throughout the country will benefit from a combined business deal worth £500,000. Eight artisan producers will bring more than nine different gins to Lidl’s 95 Scottish stores from Thursday 1st November.

Two artisan rings within the range were showcased in Lidl’s inaugural Scottish Gin Festival and back by popular demand, with a further seven brand new products to Lidl shelves; Kinrara Highland Dry Gin, Kinrara Pink Hibiscous Gin, Square Peg Pink Gin, Red Castle Craft Gin, Esker Gin, Lilliard Ruby Gin Liqueur. These new lines provide a fantastic opportunity for artisan Scottish distillers to expand their reach to a national Lidl audience.

Available while stocks last, the Gin Festival is a proud showcase of the craft gin landscape across the length and breadth of Scotland with samples from Shetland, Orkney, Perthshire, Highlands and Borders.

Head of Lidl’s Regional Buying Scotland Team, Paul McQuade, said: “We are proud to be launching the second installation of our now-famous Gin Festivals, at a time when our local suppliers are pushing the boundaries of innovation in craft gin. At Lidl we are committed to local sourcing, with already 300 Scottish products in stores all year-round, so limited time in-store promotions like this enable us to work with new and established distillers across the entire country, bringing customers the best gins at the best prices on the market.”

Lidl already holds a strong reputation in gin production, with gin sales across Lidl UK stores increasing by 40% in the last year, a testament to customers’ rising interest in craft spirits.
