W Edinburgh is set to revolutionise the Scottish tea scene with the launch of SUSHISAMBA’s avant-garde Afternoon Tea experience.

Debuting on 4 January 2025, this unique offering blends Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian culinary traditions, promising a taste adventure atop the hotel’s 10th floor.

Priced at £65 per person, or £75 with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut, this daily indulgence runs from noon to 4pm.

Guests will savour their treats from bespoke tea stands, handcrafted by a local ironmonger, whilst enjoying panoramic vistas stretching from Calton Hill to Edinburgh Castle.

The menu boasts an array of innovative savouries, including:

  • Highland Wagyu Katsu Sando: A luxurious twist featuring arenkha caviar, aji panca, and sriracha mayo
  • Scottish Scallop Nigiri: Adorned with aburi and passionfruit sauce
  • Samba Edinburgh Roll: A crowd-pleaser with whisky-cured salmon, avocado, oshinko, and whisky orange gel

The pastry chefs have outdone themselves with confections such as:

  • Blackberry & Coconut Choux: Nestled on almond sable with blackberry gel
  • 66% Dark Chocolate & Miso Cremeux: A decadent fusion with yuzu and yoghurt
  • Exotic Fruit Japanese Milk Bun: Topped with mango salsa and honey tuille

Warm Honey & Tahitian Vanilla Scones round off the experience, served alongside strawberry & pink peppercorn compote and clotted cream. A vegetarian menu is also available.

For a limited time, W Edinburgh is offering discounted gift vouchers, with Champagne Afternoon Tea for two available at £130 (reduced from £150). Bookings and gift cards can be purchased online, just in time for the festive season.
