More whisky lovers than ever can now find a bottle of Tomatin single malt on their local shelf, as the Highland distillery marks a year of significant growth across its grocery, convenience and on-trade channels.
Building on its longstanding credibility in the specialist whisky sector, Tomatin has secured a series of major new listings over the past 18 months. The expansion has brought the distillery’s signature light, soft and fruity Highland style to a broader audience, with increased visibility across leading UK retailers and wholesalers.
Central to this growth are two retail-exclusive expressions developed specifically for mainstream audiences. Tomatin Double Cask launched in Tesco in April 2025, followed by Tomatin 10 Year Old in Waitrose in November 2025. Both are presented in distinctive new packaging featuring a wood-grain motif inspired by oak tree rings, reflecting the distillery’s focus on cask quality and maturation.
Designed to offer accessible price points without compromising on character, the two expressions have quickly gained traction. Tomatin Double Cask is now stocked in more than 600 Tesco stores nationwide, up from 380 at launch, and has secured a listing with Booker Wholesale across 22 Scottish depots. This partnership extends the brand’s reach into both convenience retail and the on-trade, with the potential to supply more than 500 Premier stores and access 14,000 Booker on-trade members.
Meanwhile, Tomatin 10 Year Old has achieved distribution in 200 Waitrose stores and secured a full estate listing with northern premium retailer Booths, placing it in all 25 locations. The listing reinforces Tomatin’s positioning within quality-led retail environments.
Both expressions have also earned industry recognition. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026, Tomatin 10 Year Old was awarded Gold while Double Cask took Silver. The pair also secured Silver medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2026.
Gordon Hynd, UK Sales Director at Tomatin, said the past 18 months have highlighted strong demand for Highland single malts across multiple channels.
“Building listings in Tesco, Waitrose, Booker and Booths speaks to the versatility of our two new single malt expressions,” he said. “As a key strategic priority for the business, we are continuing to gain significant traction in the channel.
“The Booker partnership provides considerable access to independent retailers and the on-trade, meaning Tomatin whisky is now within reach of an entirely new set of customers on Scottish soil. Booths champions quality and provenance and is a natural home for Tomatin. A full estate listing across all 25 stores is a real statement of intent in the north of England.
“At Tomatin, what matters most has never changed: exceptional cask management, the craft of our people, and making single malts that are genuinely worth seeking out. Getting our whiskies in front of more people, in more places, is how we bring that to life.”
The distillery’s grocery success is complemented by wider distribution gains. Tomatin 12 Year Old Triple Cask has recently been listed with LWC Wholesale, strengthening its presence in the on-trade as the brand rolls out updated core range packaging globally.
