A new outdoor food and entertainment venue set to open on the banks of the River Clyde has unveiled its first food vendor.

Clydeside Containers, described as a “vibrant social hub” featuring street food and live entertainment, will open later this spring on the Broomielaw, near Glasgow city centre. The venue will include an all-weather retractable roof, integrated heating, wind shields, and a fully adaptable roofing system designed to withstand the city’s unpredictable climate.

The first vendor to sign up is Rabbit Food, a popular Edinburgh-based vegan junk food brand known for its punk rock-inspired menu. The brand, which has gained a cult following with pop-ups across Scotland, offers inventive plant-based dishes, including deep-fried lasagna and buffalo-style “chicken” burgers.

Speaking about the expansion, the Rabbit Food team said: “We’ve been working hard to make sure the Glasgow location has the same energy and vibe that people love about Rabbit Food. It’s not just about the food – it’s about creating an experience. We’re combining nostalgia, punk rock, and a little bit of chaos into every dish.”

Clydeside Containers is expected to announce more vendors and entertainment plans in the coming weeks as it prepares to launch.
