El Santito, the striking speakeasy bar nestled within El Santo restaurant in Glasgow’s Merchant City, is set to launch its first-ever Cocktail Masterclass this summer, bringing a vibrant taste of Latin America to the city on Friday 17 July.
Renowned for its expertly curated selection of Latin American cocktails, El Santito will open its doors for an immersive evening designed to introduce guests to the craft, culture and creativity behind some of the region’s most iconic drinks. The hands-on session will see attendees guided through the creation of three cocktails of their choice, using premium spirits including tequila, rum and pisco.
Led by El Santito’s experienced mixologists, the masterclass promises more than just drink-making. Guests will gain insight into the stories, techniques and flavour profiles that define each cocktail, offering a deeper appreciation of the artistry behind the bar.
Participants can tailor their experience by selecting from a range of classic serves. Options include the ever-popular Margarita, alongside the Caipirinha — Brazil’s national cocktail made with cachaça, lime and sugar — delivering a refreshing taste of Rio. For those seeking a twist on tradition, the Rum Old Fashioned offers a spiced take on the whisky classic, while the Pisco Sour brings a smooth, frothy blend of Peruvian pisco, citrus and syrup. Rounding off the selection is the Paloma, a crisp tequila-based favourite often finished with a salted rim.

Denny Norris, Operations Manager at El Santo, said: “Choosing which three cocktails they’d like to make allows guests to personalise the entire experience. Interest in mixology has never been higher — it’s recognised as a true craft. Learning to create cocktails properly not only enhances the flavour but ensures ingredients are used to their full potential.”
He added: “This is a completely new event for us, and one we’re very excited to debut. It’s the perfect experience for small groups, or as a gift to enjoy with friends. We’re inviting guests to spice up their summer at El Santito.”
The Cocktail Masterclass runs from 7pm to 9pm on Friday 17 July and is priced at £35 per person. Booking is available online via SevenRooms.
