The Isle of Skye isn’t just one of Scotland’s most breathtaking landscapes: it’s also home to Torabhaig, the first new distillery on the island in nearly 200 years. This autumn, Torabhaig releases Sound of Sleat Batch Strength, a limited-edition single malt that captures the elemental spirit of Skye in a glass.
Bottled at a robust 60.2% ABV, this release takes the much-loved Sound of Sleat whisky and turns up the intensity – think bonfire embers, sea spray, citrus brightness and warming spice. It’s a whisky that feels made for autumn evenings: big, bold, smoky and coastal.
Named after the dramatic stretch of sea that separates Skye from the mainland, Sound of Sleat Batch Strength is as much a story of place as it is of whisky-making. Every drop is shaped by Skye’s rugged coastline, wild weather and rich whisky-making tradition.
This release also continues Torabhaig’s collaboration with Skye-based artist Ellis O’Connor, whose bespoke artwork adorns the label, echoing the movement and energy of the surrounding sea.
