India’s most awarded single malt, Paul John Whisky, has revealed its highly anticipated Christmas Edition 2025 – the eighth release in the brand’s annual limited series, and notably, its oldest expression to date.

Crafted along the tropical shores of Goa, this year’s festive whisky captures the warmth and richness of the season through an unpeated malt matured for eight years and finished in rare sherry cream casks. The whisky spends its first five years resting in ex-bourbon casks, followed by two years in 250-litre cream sherry casks—Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez (PX)—before both finishes are vatted together for a final year of maturation.

The result is a deep amber spirit shimmering with festive character. Expect aromas of stone fruits and butterscotch leading into luscious flavours reminiscent of Christmas cake, with a long, elegant finish. Master Blender Michael D’Souza describes the 2025 release as “one of indulgent harmony”, adding: “The Spanish Cream Sherry casks, born of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso wine, have bestowed a richness that’s both sweet and sophisticated—like Christmas itself.”

Each year’s Christmas Edition release has become a major event for whisky enthusiasts worldwide, with previous bottlings quickly turning into collector’s favourites. For 2025, just 6,254 bottles have been produced globally, of which the UK receives 420. Whisky lovers are encouraged to act quickly, as once they’re gone, they’re gone.

True to the Paul John house style, the 2025 Christmas Edition is non-chill-filtered, contains no additives, and is bottled at 48% ABV. Retailing at £65 for a 70cl bottle via specialist spirit retailers, it promises tropical sweetness, warming spice, and creamy richness—the perfect pour to toast the festive season.
