Popeyes® UK, the home of Famous Louisiana Chicken, has officially announced the opening of its first Dundee restaurant as Friday 13 February at 11am, with free Deluxe Sandwiches for the first 100 customers in the queue.
Located in Kingsway West Retail Park, this marks the brand’s ninth restaurant in Scotland, bringing its legendary Chicken Sandwich and signature New Orleans hospitality to even more Scottish fans.
To celebrate the opening, Popeyes® is pulling out all the stops to showcase the spirit of Mardi gras to the people of Dundee. The first 100 customers through the door will receive a free Deluxe Sandwich, plus exclusive Popeyes® UK merchandise for the first 50 in the queue. Families visiting the restaurant from opening day will also have the chance to get creative and enjoy Dundee inspired activities that nod to the city’s cultural heritage. For the most dedicated fried chicken lovers, the first four vehicles in the Park & Serve bays and the first four pedestrians on foot will win the ultimate prize of free Deluxe Sandwiches for an entire year.
Guests looking to visit on launch day are advised to get down quickly to beat queues which have become synonymous with Popeyes® UK restaurant openings. The queue officially opens at 9am, but chicken fans have been known to queue much longer. At Popeyes® most recent Scottish opening at Fort Kinnaird retail park, fans of the legendary Chicken Sandwich queued for over 18 hours to be in with the chance of taking home the ultimate prize.
Ahead of the launch, fans can also enter for the chance to be invited to the Dundee opening by signing up via the Popeyes® UK website.
The restaurant will open with the full Popeyes® menu, including fan favourites such as the iconic Popeyes® Chicken Sandwich, Tenders, Signature Chicken Wraps, Saucin’ Boneless range and the popular Big and Mega Dip range which were a new addition to the menu at the end of last year. Each piece of Popeyes® famous chicken is marinated for 12 hours in its signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver that world-famous ‘Shatter Crunch’.
