Premium Scottish spirits producer Ben Lomond Gin has unveiled a striking new bottle design, marking the next phase in the brand’s evolution as it strengthens its presence across both on-trade and retail markets.

The redesigned packaging balances sustainability, visual impact and practicality, while retaining the distinctive identity that has become synonymous with the Ben Lomond Gin range. The update follows the recent opening of Luss Distillery on the banks of Loch Lomond, now the brand’s dedicated distilling home.

A central feature of the redesign is the move to lighter-weight glass, improving the bottle’s environmental credentials without compromising its premium feel. New embossed detailing adds a tactile element, enhancing the brand’s signature diamond motif and reinforcing its visual appeal behind the bar and on shelf.

The clean, four-sided diamond shape remains integral to the design, drawing inspiration from Ben Lomond itself, once known as “Beacon Mountain” and maintaining a strong connection to the landscape that informs the brand’s identity. Meanwhile, subtle refinements to the label introduce a more contemporary finish, with premium paper stock, foil accents and gloss detailing boosting shelf standout.

Functionality has also been prioritised, particularly for bartenders. The updated bottle features a smaller cork with a light wood finish and engraved logo, wrapped in a PVC capsule. Crucially, the new closure allows for easy fitting of speed pourers, supporting efficiency in high-volume bar environments and reinforcing the brand’s on-trade appeal.

The new-look bottles are now rolling out across the full Ben Lomond Gin portfolio, including its original expression and flavoured variants, in time for the busy summer season. The redesign will take centre stage at the 154th Open at Royal Birkdale, where Ben Lomond Gin returns as the Official Gin of The Open, with the updated packaging showcased throughout the Ben Lomond Gin Garden.

Andrew Jack, Group Marketing Director of Loch Lomond Group, said the redesign was driven by both consumer and trade needs. “While the spirit inside the bottle remains the same award-winning Ben Lomond Gin that people know and love, we saw an opportunity to evolve how the brand shows up on shelf and behind the bar,” he said.

“We have worked hard to strengthen the sustainability of our packaging while also enhancing the bottle’s premium stand-out and tactile quality. By lightweighting the bottle, we’ve also unlocked meaningful cost efficiencies, savings we are already passing on to customers through price and promotion.”

Retailing at an RRP of £29, the Ben Lomond Gin range is available online via the brand’s website and Luss Distillery. The Original Gin is stocked by major retailers including Waitrose, as well as Asda and Tesco stores in Scotland, while the flavoured range is available through selected Scottish Asda stores, Amazon, specialist spirits retailers and the on-trade.
