An award-ceremony at Edinburgh’s Signet Library has seen Roselyn Burnett of Cardhu Distillery named Distillery Manager of the year and Andrew Lennie of Whyte and Mackay named Brand Ambassador of the year, categories sponsored by McLaren Packaging at The World Whiskies Awards and the Icons of Whisky Scotland 2025.

Michael McLaren, Sales & Marketing Director, McLaren Packaging, said: “Congratulations to Roselyn and Andrew for bagging these coveted awards.

We are delighted to continue our support for these awards to shine a light on the important role played by packaging in premium drinks branding and marketing.

“The creation of innovative packaging solutions and the development of innovative production processes with an emphasis on recyclability are key to our customers’ ongoing success.

“Roselyn and Andrew’s success illustrates that where assiduous management coupled with brand investment, design aspirations, environmental goals and quality targets are delivered, then the whisky sector is well placed to meet the challenges and grasp the opportunities over the year ahead.”

The award-ceremony featured talks from Damian Riley-Smith, founder of Whisky Magazine, and Tony Singh, award-winning chef and restaurateur.

Winners of the World Whiskies Awards Scotland will go on to compete against other winners from the France, Ireland, Canada, Japan, U.S.A, and Rest of World categories in March 2025, where winners of the World’s Best awards for 2025 will be revealed.
