Having previously trained as an accountant in Bristol, Jamie returned to the capital in 2006 to join Field & Lawn Ltd. He spent over three years with the company, gaining significant experience as Finance Director before joining the Board at Hibernian Football Club in the same capacity in 2010. During this time, he also served as a non-executive director on the Board of The Hibernian Community Foundation and Bioscientifica Ltd.
In his role with The Scotch Whisky Experience, he will lead on financial strategy and management as well as having responsibility for IT and property matters.
Jamie said: “I am thrilled to now be working with The Scotch Whisky Experience. It’s easy to be inspired here, working with such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team to promote Scotch whisky and Scotland to visitors to the capital.
“I have joined at a particularly exciting time as the company is undertaking a significant project to create new dining and tasting areas at the Johnstone Terrace facing of the building, which will open in 2019.
“This continues a long standing policy of investing for the future, growing the business and developing the team. I’m very much looking forward to helping shape the business strategy to introduce even more visitors to the delights of a dram.”
Since 2009, the Scotch Whisky Experience has undergone £8m worth of upgrades across all departments, which has included incorporating the priceless Diageo Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection – 3,384 historic bottles of whisky glowing within a marble and glass vault. Ideal for private events, whisky masterclasses, group tours and private dining, The Scotch Whisky Experience is a venue that is both inspiring and flexible.
