Arran Barley Batch 002 and Sherry Serenade complete the Signature Series

Isle of Arran Distillers has introduced two new Arran Single Malt expressions: the 10 Year Old Arran Barley Batch 002 and the Arran Single Malt Sherry Serenade. The Sherry Serenade marks the fourth and final chapter of the limited-edition Signature Series. Both releases are available now for purchase from whisky retailers worldwide.

The Arran Barley series is a unique range crafted using malted barley grown on the Isle of Arran through a partnership with Bellevue Farm.

The Currie family, who have run Bellevue Farm for six generations, cultivate approximately 95 acres (38 hectares) of barley across the Shiskine Valley and the southern half of the island. Isle of Arran Distillers has sourced barley from two 10-hectare fields beside the company’s Lagg Distillery since 2015.

The 2026 Batch 002 release is the second in the Arran Barley range and was produced using Concerto Barley, differing from Batch 001 which used Optic Barley.

This edition has been fully matured in first-fill Bourbon Barrels. Released annually in small batches, each edition is unique due to variations in barley varieties, harvest conditions, cask selection, and available volumes, while maintaining the signature style of Arran Single Malt. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is uncoloured and non chill-filtered, with an RRP of £62.99.

On the nose, the Arran Barley Batch 002 offers fresh herbs and bright citrus, balanced by soft vanilla sweetness and a hint of aniseed.

The palate brings ginger biscuits and vanilla alongside citrus notes and a complex oily texture, leading to a rich and warming finish with gentle aniseed and sweet spice.

The Signature Series is Arran’s four-part limited-edition range designed to showcase the diversity and depth of the distillery’s spirit and highlight unusual maturation techniques. The series began in autumn 2023 with Edition 1, Remnant Renegade, and continued with Edition 2, Barrel Bonfire, an 11-year-old peated expression, followed by Edition 3, Duero Discovery, in 2025, which featured a 12-year-old unpeated dram matured in first-fill Spanish red wine casks.

The Arran Single Malt Sherry Serenade is a 9-year-old unpeated expression matured entirely in first-fill Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and Amontillado sherry casks. This fourth and final edition of the Signature Series is bottled at 50% ABV and has a limited release of 13,971 bottles, priced at an RRP of £84.99.
Lochranza Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman said: “As the final instalment in the Signature Series, this release feels particularly meaningful. It brings the journey to a close in a way that reflects both our tradition and our willingness to explore beyond the familiar whilst always encouraging a good honest whisky.”

The Sherry Serenade presents dried figs and dark raisins layered with roasted nuts, polished oak, and a touch of leather on the nose.

The palate is full-bodied and velvety with treacle, toffee, and chocolate-coated cherries, layered with walnuts and espresso. The finish moves from toasted oak and caramelised orange into nutty sherry and soft cocoa.
