The team behind Stockbridge’s popular Neighbourgood Market has been awarded the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens by the City of Edinburgh Council for a period of up to four years.

Launching under the name Neighbourgood Gardens, the new venture will run from 23 July to 31 August 2026, bringing a curated mix of independent Scottish food and drink traders alongside a daily programme of live performances throughout the festival season.

Building on the success of its Stockbridge counterpart, Neighbourgood Gardens will transform the iconic city-centre location into a vibrant hub of hospitality and entertainment. Visitors can expect a rotating line-up of street food vendors, artisan producers and musical acts taking to the bandstand each day.

Edinburgh-based Cold Town Brewery has partnered with the organisers, extending an existing relationship from the Stockbridge site. The brewery will provide a selection of its award-winning beers, offering a locally brewed drinks range within one of the capital’s most recognisable outdoor venues.

Preston Mommsen of Neighbourgood Market said: “We’re really excited to be awarded this iconic venue underneath Edinburgh Castle. Princes Street Gardens is a wonderful location and we are working hard with Cold Town Brewery to ensure we add to the overall offering of the gardens with local, Scottish food, drink and musical performances.”

Margaret Graham, Culture and Communities Convenor at the City of Edinburgh Council, added: “The Ross Bandstand and West Princes Street Gardens are among our most iconic cultural and historic public spaces, right in the heart of Edinburgh, and we’re eager that they continue to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. With a strong line-up of performances and a range of independent food and drink traders, Neighbourgood Gardens will be a welcome addition to the venue.”

Irma Jansen of Cold Town Brewery said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be extending our partnership with the team behind Neighbourgood Market at this exciting new location. As an Edinburgh-based brewery, it’s fantastic to see Cold Town’s beers being served in such a landmark setting during one of Edinburgh’s busiest and most exciting times of the year.”

Neighbourgood Gardens will operate seven days a week from 11am to 10pm, with free daily live music, Fringe finale shows, a youth music day in collaboration with charitable organisations, and further programming still to be announced.

Updates, including performance announcements, will be shared via Instagram at @neighbourgoodgardens. Local musical and arts groups interested in performing can contact the organisers at info@theneighbourgood.market.
