A new line of spirits has been unveiled to support armed forces veterans in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day. GHQ Spirits has introduced a limited-edition collection of Scottish rum, vodka, and gin named “Operation Overlord Spirit” in tribute to the pivotal military campaign of 1944 that initiated Europe’s liberation during World War II. This special range will debut on D-Day, June 6th, with £10 from each bottle sold dedicated to supporting veterans across the Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force. Priced at £50 per 70cl bottle, the collection will be available exclusively through GHQ Spirits.
The label artwork for “Operation Overlord Spirit” has been crafted by Porto-based artist Rui Ricardo, known for his illustrations with the Folio Society. The concept behind this commemorative spirit draws from founder James McNeill’s family legacy of service, particularly inspired by his grandmother Lena Lowe’s role as a dispatch rider during WWII, alongside her three sons’ service in the RAF, Army, and paratroop regiments.
James McNeill commented, “This launch not only introduces three new products but also embodies a meaningful initiative to support military charities and honor the service of veterans and active-duty personnel.”
In addition to the limited edition spirits, GHQ Spirits will release a special run of 500 Giclée art prints signed by Rui Ricardo. A further £10 from each print sale will be contributed to the Tri-Service Benevolent Funds.
