The Scottish Bee Company, initially renowned for their heather and blossom-inspired honeys, has significantly diversified their product range over the past seven years.

Founded by Suzie and Iain Millar, the company has expanded beyond its honey roots to offer a variety of gourmet products.

Their current offerings now include a selection of dressings, condiments, infused vinegars, two varieties of hot honey, and most recently, an indulgent honey-inspired chocolate spread.

Building on this success, the company is now poised for further expansion as part of the newly formed Natural Larder Collective.

This strategic move aims to extend the brand’s reach beyond its Scottish heartland and create a platform for other natural food producers to join forces.

The collective is envisioned as a haven for brands that share a commitment to all-natural ingredients and healthier living.

Nuisance Drinks, a pioneering botanical brew specialist, is the first external brand to join this collective.

This enterprising adult soft drinks range celebrates the art of foraging, utilising often overlooked shrubs, herbs, and weeds in a positive, nature-driven light.

The inclusion of Nuisance Drinks demonstrates the collective’s commitment to diverse, innovative products within the natural food sector.

Hugo Morrissey, Nuisance Drinks founder, commented: “The Natural Larder Collective is the perfect ‘next steps’ home for Nuisance Drinks because it mirrors our values of sustainability and innovation while celebrating nature’s unsung ingredients.

“By joining forces, we can reach even more people who share our deep-rooted passion for healthier, all-natural offerings while continuing to support biodiversity and rewilding efforts.

“This meaningful union allows us to scale up whilst staying true to our original mission of turning the ‘nuisances’ of the wild into something truly extraordinary.”

The Natural Larder Collective believes this is an opportune moment for artisanal brands to collaborate.

Scottish Bee founder, Suzie Millar, added: “We see Nuisance Drinks as the perfect clean deck stable mate who shares our determination to look to Nature, not the science lab, when it comes to championing ‘hero ingredients’ and compelling recipes.

“Today, our appreciation of real ingredients extends far beyond Scotland’s borders, which is why we believe The Natural Larder Collective is well-placed to supercharge the appeal of both Scottish Bee and Nuisance throughout the UK and overseas, and also act as a lightning rod for other compelling ‘real ingredient’ brands to join our slow food cause.”

They cite two key factors supporting this view: firstly, the increased interest from supermarkets in innovative, disruptive brands, and secondly, the growing focus within the specialty food sector on thoughtful, small-batch producers.

This sector, which includes delis, garden centres, health food stores, farm shops, and food halls, is increasingly prioritising artisanal products that offer both great taste and good nutrition.

By bringing together like-minded brands, the Natural Larder Collective aims to create a stronger presence in the market, offering consumers a curated selection of high-quality, natural food products.

This collaborative approach could potentially provide smaller artisanal brands with increased visibility and market reach, whilst offering consumers a wider range of innovative, health-conscious food options.
