Ditch the dishes and dodge the cooking chaos this Christmas – gather the whole gang (grannies, mates and muddy-pawed mischief-makers included) for a three-day Highland takeover packed with feasting, fireside games and festive magic, all wrapped up in a fully catered, exclusive-use hotel hideaway near Loch Ness.

The 29-bedroom boutique The Lovat, Loch Ness is offering exclusive hire from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day for a rare chance to take over a fully staffed property for a three-night Highland escape, where the food and accommodation is all taken care of to allow for a calm and exclusive yuletide affair.

Perfect for large or multi-generational families or groups of pals, with four legged friends also welcome, the exclusive hire includes dinner, bed and breakfast for up to 58 adults, with 29 bedrooms ranging from Grand Masters to Garden Rooms, and Loft Rooms with a view of Loch Ness, to accommodate all group sizes.

Every little detail is taken care of – from rooms serviced daily to roaring fires and puzzles, games and snifters in the Green Lounge. Mulled wine and mince pies are presented on arrival on Christmas Eve, with the celebrated Mòr and Beag Tasting Menus on offer in Station Road restaurant on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

The big day itself features the show-stopping Discovery Menu, created by owner and head chef Sean Kelly and his team  — think a Christmas lunch menu where roast turkey with duck fat potatoes, venison with elderberries, or Gigha halibut with Shetland mussels are the main acts, showcasing the incredible flavours and produce the region is known for. An evening picnic hamper is also included for when the munchies arrive later in the evening!

Located just over an hour from Inverness Airport, The Lovat is surrounded by unspoilt Highland scenery, with quiet Lochside trails and magical winter waterfall walks perfect for clearing the cobwebs, with evenings spent by the fire in the whisky snug or gathered for games and reading, surrounded by views of frost-covered hills, twinkling decorations and total peace and privacy.

Run by owners Caroline Gregory and Sean Kelly since 2005, this is a hotel with genuine warmth, great food and a personal touch that makes every stay feel special. The three-day Christmas exclusive hire is a one-off opportunity to take over the entire hotel — and make Christmas memories that will last a lifetime.

The Three Day Exclusive Christmas Hire is available from 23-26 December 2025 for £42,000 for up to 58 adults sharing 29 bedrooms, and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks charged on consumption. To find out more or to book, please visit www.thelovat.com, email info@thelovat.com or call 01456 459250
