Vote for your favourite local restaurants and enjoy rewards: Harden’s launches 2025 Diners’ Poll

14/05/2024

Restaurant guide Harden’s is giving UK diners the chance to put favourite local eateries on the map in exchange for delicious rewards with the launch of its latest National Diners’ Poll.

The prestigious annual survey, now in its 33rd year, is open to everyone in the country willing to share their best (or perhaps worst) restaurant experiences of the last 12 months in exchange for a wealth of incentives.

Diners have until midnight on Monday 6th May to complete the quick and easy survey which forms the basis for the Harden’s annual London and national print guides, and respected Top 100 listings released at the end of the year. Harden’s London Restaurants is the only surviving annual print guide to restaurants in the capital, and the UK edition is one of only two national print restaurant guides still sold in bookshops.

Diners can submit as many reviews as they wish, and all who participate will be entered into the prize draw for a luxury break for two at Gleneagles, complete with dinner at UK Top 100 winner, Restaurant Andrew Fairlie.

Harden’s co-founder and editor of the guides, Peter Harden, says: “Our annual Diners’ Poll is a fantastic opportunity for people to get behind those local restaurants they’ve enjoyed over the last 12 months and help the hard-working members of their region’s hospitality industry achieve the recognition they deserve. Equally it’s a chance to share valuable feedback with fellow diners regarding places that may have missed the mark.”

Harden’s is the only print restaurant guide in the UK to be based on carefully curated feedback from normal diners rather than a group of professional inspectors. Peter adds: “Diners referring to our print guide, app or website for recommendations can trust that the reviews they see have been written by other diners who are just like them and paying out of their own pocket. We cover dining out establishments across the length and breadth of the UK, however in order to produce this valuable resource, we need to ask diners themselves to spare some time sharing their experiences. It only takes seconds to name a restaurant and add marks, plus an optional comment. Budding restaurant reviewers keen to share a number of their experiences can return as often as they like up until the deadline. Rewards increase with the number of reviews you submit so the more you put in, the more you get out!”

Around 2,500 diners from across the nation usually take part in the Harden’s annual survey, providing up to 30,000 reports. Restaurants at all price levels are included: from street food vendors to the country’s most ambitious dining rooms, with 2,800 eateries listed in total.

At the end of the year, the Harden’s Top 100 list is compiled of all the highest-scoring restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales. *Reviews must be of different restaurants. Multiple votes for the same restaurant will count as just 1 review.
