Edinburgh-based whisky brand Wee Smoky has launched a range of six premium ready-to-drink canned cocktails, designed to bring smoky Scotch whisky to a broader audience.
Created in partnership with liquid development specialist and former World Class Bartender of the Year Jack Sotti, the 100ml canned range reimagines familiar serves with Wee Smoky’s distinctive lightly smoky character.
The collection includes a Margarita, Salted Caramel, Espresso Martini and Grape-fruit-arita, alongside whisky-led takes on the Old Fashioned and Manhattan. The brand says the range has been developed to appeal both to established whisky drinkers and consumers who may previously have viewed Scotch as intimidating or traditional.
Rory Gammell, Founder of Wee Smoky, said: “Smoke has traditionally been seen as intense. Whisky has traditionally been seen as intimidating. We believe both deserve a wider audience.
“Imagine finding out that your favourite Margarita, or indeed Paloma, turned out to be Scotch whisky-based. For me, that’s what success would look like – playing our part in a broader perception shift of our category.”
Wee Smoky was founded in 2020 and was created as a single-grain Scotch whisky specifically for cocktail mixing. The business has since expanded internationally, with listings in markets including Australia, France, China, the US, Hong Kong and South Korea. Scottish Enterprise previously highlighted the brand’s ambition to position Wee Smoky as a global Scotch whisky choice for cocktail mixology.
