The team behind Freddy’s is excited to unveil their latest endeavour, Westside Rodeo, a country-themed pop-up bar located at 51A George Street, Edinburgh.

Following their recent acquisition of Eastside (formerly Opal Lounge), this thrilling new concept will be open for a limited time starting today, Friday 27 September, with bookings now available.

Inspired by the tremendous success of their country nights at Freddy’s, Westside Rodeo elevates this experience by dedicating an entire venue to the allure and excitement of country music.

The new pop-up promises an immersive experience that brings the essence of Nashville to Edinburgh. Guests can anticipate live performances from some of the finest country artists from across the UK and beyond, making Westside Rodeo the ultimate destination for a memorable night out.

“Westside Rodeo is more than just a bar – it’s an experience,” said area manager Gavin Currie. “Whether you’re a seasoned country fan or someone who’s new to the genre, there’s something for everyone.

“With performances scheduled throughout the week, each visit promises to be unique, filled with music, dancing, and good times.”

The menu at Westside Rodeo will not only feature country-themed cocktails—though these will certainly be a highlight—but also a diverse selection of premium beers and tequilas, all infused with a distinctive Westside twist that embodies the bold and adventurous spirit of the venue.

Each drink is meticulously crafted to enhance the overall experience, with a few surprises in store that perfectly complement the country vibes and vibrant atmosphere.

Previously owned and operated by the Montpeliers group for 23 years, the Freddy’s team has transformed the venue.

Westside Rodeo boasts a fully immersive saloon-style interior that transports guests straight into the heart of a Western film.

From wagon wheels to life-size horse statues, every detail has been thoughtfully selected to capture the spirit of the Wild West.

Neon signs flicker with the lively energy of a classic honky-tonk, while rustic wooden furnishings provide a comfortable yet authentic backdrop.

To enhance the experience further, every guest will receive a complimentary cowboy hat upon entry, ensuring that everyone can fully embrace the country spirit.

“We are excited to bring this amazing location into our growing portfolio and confirm our commitment to delivering fantastic concepts to Edinburgh,” Edward Fox continues. “Westside Rodeo perfectly complements our other venues, Freddy’s and the soon-to-open The Boston Bar, offering something distinct for our patrons while maintaining a seamless transition between each location.

“This pop-up is not just a fleeting endeavour; it’s part of our broader vision to innovate and create spaces that resonate with our community. By introducing Westside Rodeo, we are adding a new dimension to the city’s nightlife.”

Westside Rodeo is currently recruiting for supervisors, bartenders, waiting staff, and barbacks at all three of their venues. Interested candidates are encouraged to email their CVs to staff@westsiderodeo.co.uk.

Westside Rodeo will be open on Thursdays from 9 PM to 3 AM, and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 PM to 3 AM.
