Burger King’s drive-thru at Berryden Retail Park in Aberdeen has been granted a late-night operating license, allowing it to remain open until 5am.

This decision was made by the local council’s licensing committee in response to customer demand for extended hours.

The drive-thru will cater to late-night workers, emergency services, and taxi drivers, while walk-in customers will still need to visit before 11pm.

The approval reflects a growing trend among fast-food establishments to adapt to consumer needs, particularly in urban areas where late-night dining options are limited.

The solicitor representing Burger King emphasised that this move aligns with similar requests from other locations across the UK.

As reported by the Press and Journal, this extension not only meets the demands of the community but is also expected to create additional job opportunities, with a dedicated team set to manage the night shift.

The decision comes at a time when Aberdeen is witnessing an increase in drive-thru options, enhancing competition within the fast-food market.
