For those interested in trying one of the world’s top pizzas, Scotland offers a notable option. According to Time Out, Civerinos has been included on their list of the 19 best pizzas globally.

Civerinos’ New Haven-style pizza ranks 13th on the list, having impressed food critics with its traditional thin, charred crust.

The dough is made using 00 flour, high-quality extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and pure Scottish water. It is proved for up to 72 hours before being hand-stretched and topped with double marinara made from San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil, oregano, and confit garlic.

The pizza is finished with a combination of Italian sausage, burrata, pepperoni, rosemary, black pepper, parsley, and garlic oil, before being baked.

Time Out’s team, who reviewed pizza parlours worldwide from Cape Town to Lisbon, Buenos Aires to Miami, and beyond, noted the pizza’s appeal.

A Time Out writer commented: “With its chewy crusts, coal-fired bases, sweet-but-tangy marinara sauce, and carefully curated toppings, this New Haven-style pizza joint is considered among the best.”

The Civerinos team expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating they were “Full of gratitude and grated cheese,” and thanked Time Out for the acknowledgement.

Pizza enthusiasts can enjoy Civerinos’ offerings by the slice or share a 14″ or 20″ pizza at their locations in Stockbridge, Forrest Road, Hunter Square, and Portobello in Edinburgh, as well as in Glasgow’s Finnieston.

Civerinos’ mantra, “Fresh pizza. Good times,” reflects their approach to delivering a quality culinary experience.
