Step aboard Edinburgh’s luxury floating hotel and get creative with iconic Scottish brands, Isle of Harris Gin and Islander UK on Saturday 20 September.

From 2pm to 4pm, craft your very own bespoke mini satchel as part of Fingal’s Islander UK workshop, which is being staged in the hotel’s magnificent double height ballroom.

An Islander UK expert will guide guests through the easy hands-on build of their new mini satchel, including a personal choice of Harris Tweed® cloth lid, body colour and bag straps.

Fuel your creativity with a perfect serve and cocktails created by Isle of Harris Gin. Unique for its combination of maritime botanicals, including sugar kelp harvested from local sea-lochs, Isle of Harris Gin captures the spirit of Hebridean waters in stunning fashion.

Isle of Harris Gin, Islander UK and Fingal are united by a love of Scotland’s breathtaking beauty and landscapes.

Fingal was formerly a lighthouse tender for the Northern Lighthouse Board and her voyages around Scotland’s seas regularly took her past the stunning shores of Harris. Fingalwould historically have taken supplies and equipment to the lighthouses of the Outer Hebrides including Eilean Glas, near the Isle of Harris.

Permanently berthed in Edinburgh’s historic Port of Leith, Fingal is now Scotland’s only five-star luxury floating hotel and is a world-class foodie destination with a nautical twist.  Fingal has all the glamour and style of a superyacht, but with an air of old-world Art Deco luxury ocean liner elegance, inspired by the ship’s rich maritime heritage.

Re-launched as a luxury hotel, restaurant and bar in 2019, the former Northern Lighthouse Board tender is owned and operated by the award-winning team at The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is located just a 10-minute walk away.

Fingal’s Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar is open to non-residents for afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails, offering an outdoor deck and a choice of private dining booths for small pre-booked groups.

Fingal Hotel is located opposite the Port of Leith tram stop, which offers a direct and quick transport link between Leith, Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Airport.

Fingal Hotel’s Islander UK workshop tickets are £85 per person, including a mini satchel from Islander and Harris Tweed® (L:20cm H:14cm W:6cm), 3 drinks featuring Isle of Harris Gin per person (non-alcoholic mocktails available) and 4 canapés per person. For more information and to book tickets, go to www.fingal.co.uk/whats-on/island-vibes or call 0131 357 5000
