Annual Fundraising Event Supports Industry Wellbeing, Kicks Off October 10th
The Glasgow hospitality community is preparing for UK charity Hospitality Action’s annual fundraising event, Walk for Wellbeing, taking place on 10 October 2026. This event will bring together hospitality professionals from the region to support wellbeing within the industry. Last year, the initiative saw more than 1,400 participants raise £170,000 for Hospitality Action’s wellbeing and support services nationwide.
Glasgow’s Walk for Wellbeing is one of 14 such events across the UK and is powered by hospitality talent and recruitment partner mum. It is held in partnership with Caterer.com, HR in Hospitality, Imperial London Hotels, and Nespresso. Participants are invited to join 10km or 20km walks at various locations throughout October, with the Glasgow event marking the start on Saturday, 10 October, coinciding with World Mental Health Day.
Inga Gadisauskaite, General Manager Sandman Glasgow Signature and host of the Glasgow walk, expressed her enthusiasm for the event. “I’m delighted to be part of the organising committee for this year’s Hospitality Action Walk for Wellbeing in Glasgow,” she said. “The event is a fantastic opportunity for people across the hospitality industry to come together, support an important cause, and highlight the importance of mental health and wellbeing within our sector. It’s inspiring to see the industry unite outside of the workplace while raising awareness and supporting the incredible work Hospitality Action does.”
Since its launch in 2020 with a small group of participants in London, Walk for Wellbeing has developed into a nationwide industry initiative. It connects hundreds of hospitality companies and individuals, focusing on reconnection, support, and community as key wellbeing tools. The event provides business leaders with an opportunity to reconnect with their teams, enhance morale, and support employee wellbeing while contributing positively to their local community.
Craig Prentice, creator of Walk for Wellbeing, reflected on its growth. He said: “What started as a simple way to bring people together during a difficult time for hospitality in 2020, six years on, it’s incredibly inspiring to see the event continue to grow each year and unite people across the country.

For those unable to attend the hosted city walks, the ‘Walk It Your Way’ option offers flexibility. Participants can create their own route and distance anytime from World Mental Health Day on Saturday, 10 October, to Sunday, 25 October. This option allows individuals to connect with their community and the industry in their preferred manner, whether walking alone or with friends, family, colleagues, or pets.
