ONE OF the Scottish Highland’s most iconic hotels is set to host an exclusive beer tasting dinner for real ale enthusiasts to learn how to pair their favourite beverage with food.

Alongside the team from Harviestoun Brewery, Bridge of Orchy Hotel in Argyll will be hosting a beer pairing dinner event on Saturday 8th February.

Priced at £195 for dinner, bed and breakfast for two, the Harviestoun Beer Tasting Dinner will feature a four-course menu prepared by Head Chef David Hetherington, paired with Harviestoun’s award-winning range of dark ales to craft lagers.

Stewart Fotheringham from Harviestoun Brewery will be leading the tasting which includes Harviestoun’s Bitter & Twisted golden ale, Broken Dial amber ale, Old Engine Oil black ale and Ola Dubh – an ale matured in Highland Park whisky oak casks.

The family-run brewery most recently launched Scotland’s first ever alcohol-free dark ale, named ‘Wheesht’ after the old Scottish slang for ‘quiet’.

Ideal for those cyclists, drivers or walkers who need to keep a clear head, Wheesht is a 0% dark ruby ale full of flavour and aromas of roasted chocolate, sweet biscuit and dried fruit. It can be purchased from £1.15/330ml at Bridge of Orchy Hotel and from online retailers.

Working with local suppliers and farmers, Head Chef David Hetherington creates delicious menus at The Bridge of Orchy Hotel using seasonal locally sourced Scottish ingredients. As a multi-award winning chef and previous BBC MasterChef, The Professionals contestant, David is leading the hotel in its mission to create a foodie haven in the Highlands.

The Harviestoun Beer Tasting Dinner begins at 7:30pm and places can be booked via the Bridge of Orchy Hotel website: https://www.bridgeoforchy.co.uk or by calling 01838 400 208.
