Each year, the report charts the most popular and fastest-rising delivery trends across nine countries, and 2025’s edition shows the UK leading the world.

This year, the UK takes the global crown with London’s Papo’s Bagels claiming number one worldwide. A further sixteen UK items feature on the global trending list, with viral hits from 7Bone, Crunch, JENKI, Black Bear Burger, Wingstop, Planet Organic, Wilko and more.

From smash burgers to seamoss, matcha lattes, tacos, smoothies, sourdough, rice bowls, and even electrical fans – Deliveroo’s customers are not afraid to try something new while appreciating their feel-good faves.

This year, the UK has snatched the top spot in the ‘Deliveroo 100 Report’ with a much-loved winner: the bagel, which has officially been crowned as the nation’s ultimate comfort food. There has been an explosion in popularity of bagels across the country, particularly in London, a trend underscored by high-profile launches this year including pop-ups like Coach’s Bagels cart at Selfridges and the B-Bagel rooftop takeover proving this classic item is having an undeniable cultural moment.

Number one: And the restaurant itself? An independent, family-run business in London, Papo’s Bagels, has risen to the top with their Classic Bagel, which combines smoked salmon, cream cheese, sliced red onion, tomatoes, and capers. A remarkable achievement, as the London-based business – founded by a husband and wife duo – has beaten restaurant giants and well-known international chains to secure the number one position worldwide.

Initially a lockdown venture, the London-based NYC-style bagel business quickly grew from home-based deliveries, to operating from a commercial kitchen, to daily queues at their bricks and mortar store in Dalston, sell-out merch and arriving on Deliveroo. Their success highlights how authentic, locally-run establishments can capture the appetite and love of a nation for new and trending dishes.

Number two: Coming in at number two, Italy’s Crea la tua Piadina from La Piadineria in Bologna. The customisable piadina – an Italian flatbread traditionally from the Emilia-Romagna region – can be folded with either sweet or savoury ingredients, from cured meats and cheese to fish or nutella. Deliziosa.

Number three: UAE is also flying the flag for independents this year, as the bronze spot goes to The Spicy Club from Rascals Deli in Dubai. A sandwich deli co-founded by three childhood friends, The Spicy Club features sliced chicken, mild cheddar, tomato, gherkins, salt & vinegar chips and a generous dousing of spicy mayo. This sando takes a club sandwich to the next level.

So what does the global list tell us? Global trends & insights:

Don’t fix what’s not broken: with bagels, burgers, and sandwiches dominating orders, the world is telling us that a simple, portable and triple-layered format is loved when it comes to a satisfying delivery.
Elevate a classic: while the world is bonkers for burgers and sandwiches, the real trick is using simple but delicious items as a blank canvas for culinary exploration. We’re seeing rapid-fire innovation in fillings and formats, like the rise in supercharged smashburgers, keeping essential formats anything but boring.
Sharing cultures through food: from Bibimbap – a taste of Korea – in France, to an Italian/Chinese fusion in Rome, and New York deli style food dominating in the UK, it’s all about culinary exploration without borders.

From savoury Breakfast Baosfrom Pablo Eggsgobao in Edinburgh, to comforting Crumpets from Asda Express in Leeds, and a nostalgic Iced layer cake from Dougies Goodiein Belfast, it’s clear Brits were up for anything.

Matcha madness: TikTok has once again proven to influence the nation’s obsessions with Matcha-mania taking over drinks, baking and skincare alike. Its surging popularity led to it becoming one of the top ten searched keywords on TikTok globally in 2025 and hype around the Japanese green tea leaf left suppliers facing shortages around the world. On the Deliveroo 100 report, this year, it showed up in two of the UK’s top 30 – the viral Matcha Iced Latte from JENKIi in London (ranked 7th) and an elegant Matcha Chocolate Cake from Sticks N Sushi in Cambridge (ranked 29th).

Sourdough Still Rising: Meanwhile, Manchester proved it’s the sourdough capital of the UK, with customers loving Jason’s Sourdough Bread from Morrisons, with the item coming in at number four. Move over East London, Manchester is officially an artisan-loving scene with an appetite for high-quality, tangy loaves, firmly cementing the city’s position as a sourdough hotspot. With Taylor Swift admitting she can’t stop talking about sourdough at parties, we can expect even more love for this wholesome loaf.

Fan-tasy orders soar: With Deliveroo’s expansion into the retail space, customers were also getting more than just meals delivered to their doors. Wilko’s Fans became a hit, flying off the virtual shelves. The trend spiked during the intense UK heatwave this summer, when temperatures hit a high of 35°C and even overtook the likes of Barbados, Jamaica and Mexico on the temperature scale. Brits also embraced a more intimate kind of wellness, with an Ann Summers Power Bullet Set making a surprise appearance at number 28 on the list. Thanks to a partnership launched in early 2024, a range of sexual wellness products are now available for rapid on-demand delivery. With Harry Styles also launching his own pleasure toy brand in 2025, the sexual wellness market is on the rise.

Seamoss season: But that’s not the only thing on Brits’ minds. The UK has proven to be as health-conscious as ever, with a surprising number of wholesome products making the trending list. Myla’s Moss Seamoss Gel Gold from Planet Organic ranked at number 30. The viral sensation is said to elevate overall well-being, strengthen the immune system, and boost energy levels.

Clean plate club: Customers also loved fresh options like Ready to Eat Papaya from Whole Foods, Essential Cucumbers from Sainsburys, and Blueberries from the Co-op. The repeated inclusion of Essential Cucumbers – a viral sensation in last year’s list – highlights the continued popularity of the item, proving the nation’s love for the refreshing botanical fruit isn’t going anywhere. Other healthy items from The Salad Project (The GOAT) and Farmer J’s (Gochujang Salmon) also made the list, proving that the nation is embracing a nutritious and balanced approach to eating.

So what does the UK list tell us? UK trends & insights:

A balanced nation: From this year’s top 20, it’s clear that the classic takeaway has shifted over time and the popularity of build-your-own and specialist spots shows consumers are choosing fresh, salad-focused options too.
Grocery SOS: Forget the weekly shop, trending items like sourdough, crumpets, blueberries and even sliced gherkins prove that Deliveroo is a one-stop-shop for a single, vital ingredient needed right now.
