As the chill of January settles over Scotland, whisky enthusiasts and literary buffs alike turn their attention to a cherished tradition: Burns Night.

This annual celebration of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, typically involves hearty fare, stirring poetry, and a dram or two of fine Scotch whisky.

However, this year, a new contender is vying for a place at the Burns Supper table – the ‘Caorunn Burns Night Martini’.

This innovative cocktail offers a fresh twist on the customary tipple, blending the rich traditions of Burns Night with the contemporary craft of Scottish gin-making.

Handcrafted at Balmenach Distillery in Speyside, Caorunn and inclused with five handpicked Celtic botanicals and six traditional gin botanicals, this is more than just another gin; it’s a liquid representation of Scotland’s natural larder.

The recipe includes: 

  • 20ml Caorunn Gin,
  • 5ml Scotch S5ml Scotch single malt whisky, 
  • 25ml Italicus liqueur,
  • 30ml dry vermouth.

Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 20 seconds. Finish by pouring into a coupette glass over a chunk of ice and garnish with a slice of apple!
