Scottish specialist spirits purveyor, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Limited, has announced a remarkable collection of three very special aged Laphroaig whiskies to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III.

The Coronation Edition will celebrate one of King Charles III favourite whiskies.  His Majesty awarded Laphroaig a Royal Warrant in 1994 when he was Prince of Wales, the only single malt distillery to receive this honour and recently the distillery was named the best distillery in Scotland by whisky experts.

Hand selected by Chairman of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, Euan Shand, this exceptional trilogy of Laphroaig whiskies, aged 18, 23 and 26 are each finished in a Duncan Taylor sherry Octave cask adding an exceptional flavour, colour and overall depth to each spirit.

Laphroaig is named after the area of land at the head of Loch Laphroaig on the south coast of Islay.  Established as far back as 1815 and pronounced “la-froyg”, its whisky has a rich and unmistakable taste.

Sequentially numbered and limited to 150 sets worldwide, The Coronation Edition is presented in a stunning hexagon clear case, illuminated by remote control and gold mirror accents, befitting of the calibre of these whiskies.  A signed and numbered certificate of authenticity comes with each set along with tasting notes and a pair of handling gloves.  In honour of the prestigious occasion that the Laphroaig whiskies have been created for, the case comes within a royal blue drawstring bag with gold lettering, promoting the Coronation.

Chairman Euan Shand said; “It’s an honour to launch this set for the King’s Coronation using some of the finest Laphroaig whiskies in our portfolio.  These whiskies have been matured at our headquarters in Huntly, waiting for the right opportunity where the whiskies are at their optimum for release and there’s no better occasion than now.”

The Coronation Edition is available now to pre-order.  Priced at £3,900 from The Spirits Embassy on https://thespiritsembassy.com/pages/coronation-edition
