Festive Christmas Mojito

04/12/2024

As the festive season approaches, why not add a splash of Christmas cheer to your cocktail repertoire with this delicious cocktail recipe? This festive twist on the classic Cuban drink combines the refreshing notes of mint and lime with the seasonal flavours of cranberry and cinnamon, creating a perfect balance of tradition and holiday spirit.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 50ml white rum
  • 25ml lime juice
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 100ml cranberry juice
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
  • Fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • Lime wheels
  • Ice cubes
  • Cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
  • Candy cane (optional, for decoration)

Method:

  1. Fill a crystal tumbler or rocks glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the white rum, lime juice, and caster sugar into the glass and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the cranberry juice and gently stir to combine.
  4. Garnish with fresh cranberries, lime wheels, and a sprig of rosemary.
  5. Place a cinnamon stick alongside the glass and add a candy cane for extra festive flair.

This revised version creates a more visually striking cocktail that captures the essence of Christmas with its ruby-red colour and aromatic garnishes. The combination of fresh cranberries and rosemary creates a beautiful botanical garnish that’s both decorative and fragrant, while the lime wheels add a fresh citrus note to both the drink’s appearance and flavour.
