“We’re not just doing an event; we’ve created a community,” said Adedeji Ekundayo, the driving force behind Sip N’ Paint Aberdeen.

“We don’t compromise on anything, our top priority is maintaining quality and creating memorable experiences for our guests.”

The event was packed, each guest received a welcome drink on arrival before beginning painting.

Now its third event, the concept has grown quickly since it began, with events now regularly selling out.

The events grew steadily in popularity, starting with 50-70 attendees at UG2, expanding to 90-110 at Resident X, and culminating in their largest gathering yet, with over 150 people at Motiff.

Dough & Co. also collaborated for this event providing delicious doughnuts for the night.

“Finding the right venue was initially a challenge,” Ekundayo said. “It took us a year to secure our first location. We wanted a space that felt right and could see our vision.”

The team’s strong commitment to quality has achieved great success. They’ve developed solid partnerships with local businesses, bringing large groups of guests to venues throughout Aberdeen.

“We’re not just doing this for ourselves,” Ekundayo emphasised. “We want to collaborate with local businesses and create a positive impact on the community.”

Looking ahead, Sip N’ Paint Aberdeen has ambitious plans for the future, since it started, the events have run every two months but as of next year, they plan to do it every month.

Ekundayo, said: “We want a situation where you’re off work and want to unwind, and you can do something creative and memorable to share with friends and family. And you can take a masterpiece of your own home!”

“We realise that the attention span of young people these days is short, and to learn something new can be hard, so we’ve found something creative and brought some fun to it.”

Sip N’ Paint Aberdeen caters to all skill levels, welcoming many first-time painters to their events. To ensure everyone feels supported, they provide a stationary artist who offers step-by-step guidance throughout the painting process.

A competition was held for the ‘Painter of the Night’ which sparked enthusiasm from the crowd.

Additionally, professional artists circulate the venue during the event, offering assistance to guests as needed.

“That’s why we chose to go for a plain canvas, so you can paint whatever you have in your head. We want you to express your creativity and passion,” Ekundayo added.

The team’s passion for creativity and community shines through in every aspect of their events. As Ekundayo puts it, “All you need to do is better yourself; you can do anything, and remember you have no limits.

With their motto “Creativity takes courage” leading the way, Sip N’ Paint Aberdeen is set to continue adding splashes of colour to the Granite City’s social calendar for years to come.

Ekundayo and the Paint N’ Sip team encourage people to take part in the next event, saying: “For anybody out there, whether you’re in the beginner stage or have never held brushes before, just trust the process.”

This unique combination of socialising and creativity allows people to challenge themselves in a fun and engaging way, potentially discovering hidden talents or a new passion for art.
