After a hiatus of almost two years, Slug & Lettuce has reopened its doors in Glasgow with a brand-new location on West George Street.

The popular bar returned on October 19 amidst a £837,000 investment in the former Missoula venue.

Slug & Lettuce previously occupied a location on St Vincent Street, closing in January 2023 to make way for student accommodation.

The glamorous new interior includes VIP areas with plush sofa seating in fabric and metallic faux leather, with tables finished in a pink terrazzo style tile, and a dedicated cocktail masterclass area disguised as a glamorous dresser unit.

The bar boasts brushed brass arch features, bronze mirrors and colour changing LED lighting that changes throughout the day to match the mood, as well as a bespoke, eye-catching mural depicting modern foliage.

The trendy terrazzo theme continues in the showstopping toilets, complete with a teal and gold palm leaf wallpaper and arched mirrors with concealed LED lighting.

In the ladies there’s a feature vanity unit with white marble effect top and an Instagram selfie mirror for those all-important social snaps.

Outside, an eye-catching disco ball arch marks the entrance on West George Street, interspersed with green foliage, ensuring a showstopping entrance for all guests.

Slug & Lettuce West George Street will be open until 3am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will offer 50% off cocktails between Monday and Thursday.

The venue also boasts direct access to nightclub, PopWorld, upstairs. Slug & Lettuce’s 400- capacity sister venue has also benefited from the renovation, with a fresh new look for reopening.

Hollie McKenzie, General Manager at Slug & Lettuce, Glasgow, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing Slug & Lettuce back to Glasgow with a contemporary new look.

“The St Vincent Street venue was incredibly popular, so with a new, refreshed vibe and brand-new prime location in the city centre, we’re all set for even more good food, good drinks and good times!

“Slug & Lettuce is renowned for its boozy brunch, which is available all week long and the striking new décor is sure to make the perfect setting for brunch in Glasgow. We can’t wait to see you there!”

The new venue plays host to Slug & Lettuce’s delicious menus. The main menus are based around sharing, with ‘picky bits’ including Crispy Chicken Bao Buns with chilli jam and rocket and Crispy Coated Prawns with a sweet piquanté pepper sauce.

Brunch takes centre stage with a tempting mix of sweet and savoury dishes, available all week long. Indulge in Smashing Pancakes – American-style pancakes with salted caramel sauce, Biscoff crumb, popping candy and a chocolatey finish.

Or try the Crispy Shredded ChickenBacon, and Avocado Croll, a croissant packed with all the trimmings and topped with miso and bacon sauce.

Accompanying drinks include prosecco, selected cocktails and spirits. Or, there’s the option to level up to include martinis or sangria.

On the drinks menu, signature serve cocktails include Swiftie, Slug & Lettuce’s iconic disco ball glass filled with mango and passion Fruit vodka, vanilla syrup, prosecco and lemonade, and Zero Flocks Given, a flamboyant vodka and prosecco-based sharer, served in a funky pink flamingo!

All elements of the new scheme have been designed to help friends, family and colleagues make good times together.

Slug & Lettuce West George Street opened to the public on Saturday 19 October, with events including live DJs and themed brunches over the coming weeks. Local DJ, Dominique, will be performing at the venue on Saturday, 2 November.
