The Dalmore Inn in Blairgowrie is celebrating a nine-year partnership with Perth-based Blendly Coffee, which has created and supplied the venue’s bespoke coffee blend.

The long-standing collaboration has seen Blendly provide the hospitality venue with its own Dark Italian Espresso, created using a blend of Brazilian Santos Beans, Colombian Excelso Beans and Ugandan Robusta Beans.

The whole bean coffee features a Dark Italian roast and was developed specifically to match The Dalmore Inn’s brand, customers and dining experience.

Blendly, which is celebrating its tenth year in business, specialises in helping hospitality businesses create their own coffee identities rather than serving an existing supplier brand.

Mark Wilson, entrepreneur and Head of Commercial Coffee Marketplace at Blendly, said: “Rather than asking businesses to buy someone else’s coffee brand, Blendly helps customers create their own.

“We’re celebrating ten years of being in business, having started in 2016 with a simple goal: helping hospitality businesses serve better coffee.”

Since launching, Blendly has expanded its services beyond traditional coffee roasting and now works with hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafés, garden centres, visitor attractions, leisure operators and public sector organisations.

Mark added: “One of our longest-standing relationships is with The Dalmore Inn, where we have worked together for nine years, developing and supplying this bespoke coffee blend.

“Partnerships like this demonstrate our belief that coffee should become part of a venue’s identity and customer experience rather than simply another product purchased from a supplier.”

The bespoke blend was created after The Dalmore Inn owner Alan Bannerman approached Blendly looking for a unique coffee offering for the restaurant.

Mark said: “We worked together to come up with something which hit the flavour profile he had in mind, a robust, full-bodied Italian style coffee that would cater for customers in for coffee and cake, whilst also being the ideal post-meal accompaniment.”

The coffee has also become an ingredient in desserts created by The Dalmore Inn’s pastry team, including tiramisu, coffee mousse and a homemade milk ice cream affogato with roasted pistachios.

Arnaud Merrouche, General Manager of The Dalmore Inn, said: “Blendly Coffee has, and continues to be, a fantastic supplier, bringing us fresh, ready to use coffee in packaging which carries our own business name.

“Nine years is a long time, so we thought it was worth recognition, and would additionally like to congratulate Mark on ten years in business, a time which has seen many challenges, not least the Covid pandemic.”

He added: “However it’s used, this coffee is an absolute winner which we are proud to serve at The Dalmore Inn.

“As Mark always tells us, coffee is no longer just a beverage. It has become part of a business’s identity, customer experience and growth strategy.”
