Fast-growing healthy eating brand The Naked Deli Ltd. is taking its popular concept to Scotland for the first time as it prepares to open at Glasgow Airport this September.
Launched in Newcastle in 2014, the café-come-restaurant is well known for its healthy and fresh menus.
The brand has since expanded to five sites across its native North East following £2.5 million of backing from investment company, Foresight Group in 2018. Now, it is ready to spread its wings, with Glasgow Airport the first of several new openings planned for the next twelve months.

Over the past decade, increasing focus on healthy eating and food provenance has led to a major shift in consumer behaviour.
Founder and CEO Chris Jones explains: “I’ve always been health conscious and keen on keeping in shape, and often found myself frustrated at the lack of options for healthy eating around the areas I worked. I realised there was a gap in the market for a healthy food provider and the idea for The Naked Deli was born.”
The Naked Deli’s restaurants offer both grab-and-go and dine in options for customers. Its menus cater for specialist diets, including vegan and gluten free options. Environmental awareness is another key area for the brand, with all take-out meals packaged in recyclable materials.
With a site already established at Newcastle International Airport, the move North was a natural step for the company, but at 160 sq. ft this will be The Naked Deli’s largest location yet and will generate a further 15 jobs for the area.
With a record-breaking 9.9 million people visiting Glasgow Airport last year, the move is an important step in plans to make The Naked Deli a nationally-recognised name.
The Naked Deli’s Glasgow Airport site will open September 1st.
John Cordrey, Senior Investment Manager, Foresight Group said: “Consumers are growing increasingly mindful about what they’re eating. The Naked Deli is on a mission to be the leading brand in the provision of healthy, natural and tasty food. It is really exciting to watch this brand expanding and offering its delicious food in Scotland, and we look forward to the future as Foresight continues to support the Naked Deli’s growth across the UK.”
Chris Jones, CEO, The Naked Deli, added: “We are hugely excited to be taking our brand to Scotland and for nearly 10 million passengers and staff at Glasgow Airport to sample the high-quality, great tasting produce we pride ourselves in providing. Entering into the Scottish market is an incredible opportunity for us. Through hard work and the support of a great team, and financial support from Foresight Group, we continue to go from strength to strength.”
