ABERDEEN Cocktail Week has been shortlisted in the Best Food and Drink Tourism Experience category at the North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards.

Organisers of the awards, ONE and Aberdeenshire Council describe the category as “For a primary or added value food or drink producer who has created and launched a food and drink experience which is successful at attracting visitors both local and from outwith the North-east.

Festival director, Gregor Sey, commented: “I’m really passionate about showcasing what the North-east has to offer and a key metric we track is what % of attendees are from outwith the local area and how far people are willing to travel to experience our hospitality … last year, despite consecutive red weather warnings, a record 1500 people took part and sipped their way around the cities top bars, with 11% of those from non-AB postcodes, an 100% increase on 2022’s figures.”

Plans for Aberdeen Cocktail Week 2024 are quietly underway, businesses interested in getting involved should contact gregor@cocktailevents.uk
